Kevin Cramer Calls Woman “Snob” While Defending Trump Tweets

Congressman Kevin Cramer continued his pattern of disrespecting women yesterday when he called a woman on a national TV show a “snob.” His remarks were aired on KVLY in Fargo. Cramer’s childish behavior which is unbecoming of a sitting United States Representative was directed at Mika Brzezinski, co-host of “Morning Joe” on MSNBC.

As you likely know, yesterday morning President Trump tweeted derogatory remarks about the “Morning Joe” hosts. A public outcry followed by many respectable Republican elected officials in Washington. The chorus rang down from Capitol Hill that this behavior from the President of the United States is not normal and needs to stop. Few, if any, elected officials defended Trump’s tweets. Then along came Kevin Cramer, perpetual defender of everything President Trump says.

Let’s be clear, Mika is the epitome of the left wing, liberal elitist snob. – Congressman Kevin Cramer

The full remarks from Cramer mirror the demeanor of Trump. The admiration Cramer has for Trump is long documented. During the 2016 campaign, Cramer told Trump in front of a room full of reporters how Trump had changed his life. “Unprofessional” and “no class or taste what so ever” is how Cramer described Brzezinski. Do not let the irony of Cramer’s projection of unprofessional and classless behavior escape you.

This is not the first time Kevin Cramer has degraded women. It is yet another mark in a very troubling pattern for the Congressman. In 2013, Cramer verbally attacked a Native American Victim’s Assistant Program Director during a gathering to discuss ending violence against women. Following an address to Congress by President Trump, Cramer gained national attention for commenting on his women colleagues’ “white pantsuits.” Cramer was quoted as saying, “there is a disease associated with the notion that a bunch of women would wear bad-looking white pantsuits in solidarity with Hillary Clinton to celebrate her loss.” Then in March of this year, he had the Fargo police turn back women who were trying to peacefully hand over petitions to his office about women’s health.

Like the Office of the President of the United States, an elected official of the United States House of Representatives should set an example for our children. Unfortunately, Trump and Cramer have failed miserably at demonstrating decency that should be demanded by the offices they hold. These two are on the world and national stage. As the old saying goes, “act like you’ve been there before.”
