Mac Schneider Considering Congressional Run

The race for North Dakota’s lone Congressional seat may be about to get more crowded. This morning, word is circling that Mac Schneider is feeling out support for a Congressional run. Schneider would join a growing list of Democratic hopefuls for this open seat. A contested convention is something North Dakota Democrats have not experienced in quite some time.

Schneider is an attorney who operates Schneider Law Firm with offices in Grand Forks and Fargo. He served in the North Dakota Senate representing Grand Forks from 2009-2016. During that time, he was elected Senate Minority Leader. Schneider also has federal experience, specifically in Congress where he worked for Earl Pomeroy.

Schneider is expected to make an announcement in the coming days. Earlier this week, State Senator John Grabinger announced he’d seek the party’s endorsement. Former Representative Ben Hanson has been announced and working the state since mid-2017.
